The routine nature of this work is greatly simplified by using a mini-computer and GPS to ensure that measurements are taken in the same position every time that a site is visited.  The mini-computer is also used to control the Narda to perform field strength measurements, thereby ensuring that the same correct measurement setup is used for all measurements.  The highly automated nature of process also means that surveying teams can operate with infrequent supervision of technical specialists or managers.

Some of the measurement equipment that is integrated in the measurement process is shown below.

OQO: A full featured Windows XP computer for uploading and downloading site data to database via 3G GSM networks, controlling and synchronizing measurement equipment.
NARDA: A frequency selective field strength measurement device, controlled by OQO to ensure the same measurement setup is in place for all measurements.
GPS: Accurate measurement positioning, navigation to site.
Laser range finder: Measuring the exact height of transmitters.
Camera: Visual documentation of site features and measurement locations.
